A cyclist nearly died following an accident on the A62 in New Delph. Saddleworth Musical Society are getting ready to put on their autumn show. They’re promising “love and lust, fun and frolics, music and mayhem, can-can and comedy” in a production of The Merry Widow. Earlier today Oldham Council workers used a JCB to move one of the stones, which had become dislodged, back into place. The Ward Lane car park in Diggle is going to be shut on weekdays for the next three weeks, as work continues to upgrade the Pennine Bridleway. The closure, which begins today, is so equipment can be stored on the site. Work on the Bridleway has been taking place over the past 18 months, and it’s now been resurfaced throughout Greenfield and Uppermill.
