Mossley Win As Gazza Doesn’t Show

Mossley beat Garforth Town 2-1 on Tuesday night, to move up to 13th in the Evo Stik League First Division North table. But the main talking point of the night was the non-appearance of Paul Gascoigne, who was announced as Garforth’s new manager over the weekend.

Gazza’s agent later revealed that the former England player hadn’t actually signed a contract with Garforth yet. Keith McStea told the Yorkshire Evening Post the Garforth offer was “pretty good” but was still […]

The stepping stones across the River Tame in Uppermill have been repaired. Earlier today Oldham Council workers used a JCB to move one of the stones, which had become dislodged, back into place.

With the stone out of place, the crossing was impassable for almost a fortnight. It’s not clear what caused the damage in the first place, although the sheer weight and speed of the water in […]

Mr Watkins lost by just 103 votes to Labour’s Phil Woolas, after a bitterly-fought campaign and two recounts. He has claimed Mr Woolas broke the law by making certain statements about him in election leaflets.

A by-election […]
