Mossley secured their first competitive victory of the season on Saturday, with a 2-0 win over Witton Albion in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. Connor Hampson gave them a first-half lead, with substitute Matty Kay sealing victory through a goal in the last minute. The Mumps Bridge is removed. (all pictures: www.twitter.com/crofty) We saw the last of one of Oldham’s best-known landmarks last night. The northern bridge over the Mumps roundabout was removed as part of work to extend the Metrolink tram network. The Scarborough Flyer passes by the old Moorgate Halt in Uppermill this morning. (pictures: Nick Watts) Here’s the Scarborough Flyer steam service as it made its way past the site of the old Moorgate Halt near Uppermill, at about half past nine this morning. Oldham Council’s plans to get tough on inconsiderate dog owners could have an impact in Saddleworth. The council has begun a public consultation on proposals which include banning dogs from children’s play areas and forcing dog owners to keep their pets on leads in certain parks. The leak was spotted last Thursday by local parish councillor Ken Hulme, and after he raised the alarm the problem was fixed later that day. Our local police have again warned residents to make sure their homes are secure, to help keep burglars at bay.
