Booze-fuelled crime rose by more than 10% across Saddleworth and Lees last year. Figures for 2009/10 show 82 alcohol-related incidents were recorded by the police, compared with 73 during 2008/09. The statistic is broadly in line with the borough-wide trend. There was a 12% increase in crimes related to alcohol across the Oldham Council area.
