Man arrested in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Saddleworth

Police in Oldham have arrested a man in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Saddleworth.

On Monday 4 July 2016, police were called to Uppermill Conservative Club in Uppermill following reports of a burglary.

Officers attended and discovered that an offender had forced his way into the property and broken into a store cupboard, where a large number of spirit bottles were kept.

The burglar caused nearly £1000 of damage and stole close to £500 worth of alcohol.

Emergency planning exercise to take place in Greenfield next week

The M62 near Saddleworth has now fully reopened following this morning’s serious collision between Oldham and Rochdale.

Both carriageways of the motorway between junction 20 and Oldham and junction 21 at Milnrow were closed at around 9.35am earlier today after police received a number of reports of a collision just before junction 21 of the M62.
