The Marsden Jazz Festival has been named Yorkshire’s best festival at a top awards ceremony. The annual three-day live music event, which took place earlier this month, has won the ‘Outstanding Established Festival’ title at the Yorkshire Gig Guide Grassroots Awards 2015 in Whitby. Uppermill Civic Hall On Sunday 1 November 2015, from 10.00am to 3.15pm at the Civic Hall, Lee Street, Uppermill there will be a flea market. Police say there was an attempted burglary on Wall Hill Road in Dobcross overnight. The offenders attempted to gain access to a property by forcing a ground floor window. If you were in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious please call the Police by ringing 101.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 36 year old woman was raped in Mossley. The attack is believed to have happened in the grounds of a derelict care home off Micklehurst Road, Mossley at some time before 10pm on Wednesday 21 October 2015. Woods Lane, Dobcross Police are hunting three men after a newspaper delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint in Dobcross. The 33-year-old victim was unloading newspapers from his van at around 1.30am on Monday, close to Fold News, Woods Lane in the village.
