Oldham Council is encouraging residents to take part in this year’s St George’s Day celebrations. Three days of events have been organised and they will begin with the raising of the St George’s Flag at the Civic Centre on Thursday, April 23. The fire above Uppermill Reporter: Stuart Littleford Firefighters are tackling a large moorland fire above Uppermill and Greenfield this afternoon. The fire started at around 2.00pm and quickly spread across dry moorland from Greenfield towards Uppermill.
