Celebratory Lunch Back After Last Year’s Success

Following the success of last year’s Celebratory lunch, it is back this year. The lunch will be held in celebration of St.Chads Day this Sunday and will start at 1pm at Kilngreen Mission Church, Diggle.

St.Chads Parish includes of three worship centres which are based in and around Uppermill and Diggle. A few hours before the lunch, a Patronal Church service will also be held at St.Chads in Uppermill. This will begin at 11am.

Lorry Driver Injured In M62 Crash

A lorry driver had to be airlifted to hospital after his vehicle was involved in a three-car crash on the M62 on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened shortly after 1pm, close to Junction 21 for Milnrow.

Saddleworth And Lees PACT Meeting To Take Place Online

This Tuesday between 7pm and 8:30pm, officers from Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Policing team will give residents with the opportunity to voice any concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.

Snow Causes Problems On Saddleworth Roads

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal on Saturday.

Snow on Saturday afternoon and evening led to problems on roads in and around Saddleworth, with drivers warned not to travel unless necessary.

At least 10cm of snow fell. Drivers faced long delays on the M62 over the tops because of blizzard conditions, with westbound traffic moving very slowly for several hours after a breakdown blocked two lanes near J22.

Parish Councillor Ken Hulme Dies

Cllr Ken Hulme was the Vice-Chairman of Saddleworth Parish Council.

One of Saddleworth’s best-known figures, Parish Councillor Ken Hulme, has died after a short illness.

Cllr Hulme passed away early on Friday morning at the Royal Oldham Hospital, at the age of 62. Friends and family have described the news as a great shock.

Saddleworth Moors Thirteen Mile High Walk

The Countryside service for Oldham Council have organised a walk of approximetley 13 miles.

The walk which will take place this Sunday, will take in the Saddleworth Moors as well as give walkers the chance to look for white mountain hares.
