Woolas Case Features On Daily Show

Saddleworth and the verdict in the Phil Woolas election case made it onto one of the top programmes on American TV last night. There was a comedy routine about it on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Sadly the show’s website doesn’t let you watch videos if you’re outside the US. But apparently the satirical show’s reporter John Oliver riffed on the Woolas verdict during a round-up of other British news.

If you haven’t seen it before, the Daily Show is arguably the world’s biggest satirical programme. Its mix of comedy and serious interviews has turned it into one of the most popular and influential shows on US TV. Even President Obama was a guest shortly after the recent¬†midterm elections.

The episode will be screened here on More4 tonight at 8:30pm.

Wow. I love the daily show. Was it supportive of the lying liar Phil woolas? I’m guessing not.

You can watch it for yourself on channel 4 on demand or cable catch up. Worth watching just to hear Jon say Ashton-Under-LYNN. It’s on just after the half time commercial break.

I had a dream last night that Oldham was on the news for all the right reasons for once.
