The Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election may be a week ago now, but the repercussions of the contest and the outcome have continued over the last few days.

Minister Visits Royal Oldham Hospital

New Rochdale MP Praises Woolas In Maiden Speech

The new MP for Rochdale, Simon Danczuk, has used his maiden speech in the House of Commons to praise his Labour colleague Phil Woolas. Mr Danczuk spoke in yesterday’s debate on global poverty and raised issues including the Israel/Palestine conflict, as well as Bangladesh, Pakistan and Kashmir, and problems closer to home.
