Saddleworth Parish councillor Mike Buckley has told Saddleworth News this morning that he is now “considering his position” on the parish council but will not be resigning.

Cllr Buckley said the campaign to try and make him resign is “politically motivated” and stems from his involvement with the Save Diggle Action Group (SDAG).

Dobcross residents invited to public meeting over village traffic issues

All Dobcross residents are invited to a public meeting in the village Band Club on Tuesday, July 28 at 7.30pm.

The meeting, has been organised by Dobcross Village Community executive committee, to discuss increased traffic through the village. Residents can attend and air their views on safety, speed, and how to discouraging traffic from using the village roads as a ‘rat run’.

Seven Parish Councillors Call For Churchill Fields Track To Be Kept

Disabled people who use mobility scooters say they are being prevented from moving around Saddleworth by blocked public footpaths.

Parish Council Agrees Committee Line-Ups

After weeks of behind-the-scenes toing and froing, harmony broke out on Saddleworth Parish Council last night, as the make-up of its assorted sub-committees was agreed.

A special meeting was held in the new extension of Uppermill Civic Hall to finally approve the details of the various committees, which examine issues including the hall itself, the running of the cemetery, and traffic and transport matters.
