Dobcross Village Fete has Tour de France theme

The Dobcross Village Fete has a Tour de France theme this year.

The Fete will be held in Dobcross Village at the Holy Trinity School on Saturday 12th July at 2.00-5.00pm, with live bands from 5.00-8.00pm.

Attractions include stalls, bar and bbq, bouncy castle, and a grand prize draw – with a chance to win a mini iPad, helicopter ride and lots more!

Extra Government Money For Saddleworth Schools

Details of more cash for schools in Saddleworth have been announced by the government.

Several of our local schools will be receiving part of an extra £4.2m being shared out among schools across Oldham borough, to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Parents Reminded About Free Nursery Care

Oldham Council has issued a prompt to parents of young children to make sure they claim their free nursery entitlement.

Care for up to 15 hours per week is available for three and four-year-olds, for 38 weeks of the year. The entitlement begins in the term after the child’s third birthday, so boys and girls born between 1 April and 31 August 2008 will be eligible from next month.

Sporty Tots Sessions For Saddleworth Under 5s

The first of this summer’s Sporty Tots sessions for children aged up to 5 took place at the Holy Trinity School in Dobcross on Wednesday morning.

Saddleworth WI’s Royal Wedding Party

Members of the Saddleworth Women’s Institute celebrated the wedding of William and Kate with a special fundraising party at Fresca restaurant in Delph.

A total of 140 guests turned up in their finery to enjoy not only the ceremony on big screens, but also a breakfast of bacon rolls and Bucks Fizz, and later a full buffet.

Locations Of Royal Wedding Street Parties Revealed

There have been seven applications for street parties to celebrate the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the borough of Oldham later this month.

Oldham Council has revealed the list, which includes an event on Yorkshire Street in Oldham town centre. None of the seven are in Saddleworth.
