New Youth Club At Kiln Green In Diggle

A new youth club is taking place at Kiln Green hall in Diggle on Friday evenings. Organised by the Diggle and Uppermill Ecumenical Youth Project, it runs between 7pm and 8:30pm and is aimed at 11-14 year olds.

In an e-mail letting Saddleworth News know about the new club, lead youth worker Jenny Eden said they’d spoken to Year Six pupils at Diggle School before the last school year ended to establish what they were interested in.

The club started running earlier this month, and features different things every week, including games, challenges, arts and crafts, music, films, drama and more besides.

Jenny said: “We’re really excited about the possibilities for this youth club and can’t wait for it to get off the ground. We want the young people to be really involved in decided what happens in the group and how it is run. We also want their help in decorating the cellar at Kiln Green which will then become the youth club’s base.”

She added that she’s keen to hear from any volunteers over the age of 18 to help out, as at least one volunteer is needed each week to make sure the club runs. Anyone interested is asked to either give Jenny a ring on 07921 835 292, or send an e-mail to danduyouth@gmail.com

More details about the project can be found and the DUEYP website here, and from the Twitter feed here.
