Late Penalty Keeps Mossley Run Going

An 89th minute penalty was enough to secure a draw for Mossley at Wakefield on Saturday, stretching their unbeaten run in the Evo Stik League Division One North to four matches.

The home side had taken an early lead through Brandon Kane, but Lee Rick equalised at the end after a foul on Danny Queeley.

Following their dismal start to the season, Mossley have now recorded three wins and a draw in quick succession, leaving them 14th in the table which can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, Springhead have continued their solid start to the Manchester League season. Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Prestwich Heys has left them in seventh place in the 16-team division. The league website has more information here.

In the Huddersfield League, Uppermill were beaten 3-2 by Berry Brow on Saturday, leaving them in third position, six points behind leaders Hepworth who still have a 100% record.

Diggle got their first victory of the league season, 3-1 at Holmbridge, moving them up to ninth.
