An injured cyclist was airlifted to hospital today after an accident on moorland above Denshaw.

A spokesperson for the North West Air Ambulance told Saddleworth News: “A 19-year-old male cyclist was injured whilst out riding a mountain bike on the moors above Denshaw.

“He was airlifted to The Royal Oldham Hospital by air ambulance just after 12.00pm today.”

The photograph shows the air ambulance touching down on the rough moorland near to the casualty.
