Defending champions Honley are favourites though. They hold a two-point advantage over Kirkburton, with D&D a further point back in third.
D&D host Broad Oak on Saturday, with Kirkburton facing Scholes, and Honley away at Slaithwaite. There are six points available for an outright victory, with five for a winning draw, so Delph and Dobcross must hope they win while their rivals falter.
In last weekend’s double header, Delph and Dobcross experienced frustration on Saturday when their match with Scholes failed to beat the weather. After Scholes made 230/8 from their 50 overs, the home side had quickly reached 82/3 in reply when the rain intervened, meaning two points apiece.
