Local computer company giving children a helping hand at Christmas …

A computing company from Uppermill have gathered a large stash of presents and continue to do so for needy children in Manchester. The presents have been dropped off by locals to support Key 103’s ‘Mission Christmas’. All donations go to Cash for Kids Charity and are distributed around Manchester.

Concert of Remembrance by the Saddleworth Male Voice Choir

The Saddleworth Male Voice Choir will present their annual Concert of Remembrance at the Civic Hall, Uppermill on Saturday 11th November at 7.30pm.

In the first half of the concert the choir will sing a selection from their constantly changing repertoire of well-known male voice favourites followed by a sing-along of popular world war songs.

Her chronicle, the first in the Saddleworth Vampire Series, ‘Sticky Valves’ was released on 1st September and shot to number one in Horror Satire on it’s first day. In Feb 2015 and then again in Aug 2017 Saddleworth News polled its readers asking where they would prefer the new Saddleworth School to be built. Saddleworth School is the local mixed-sex secondary school educating children of 11 to 16 years of age. It is presently located in Uppermill, Saddleworth.

The poll was conducted purely out of interest. The school awaits being built.

Photos from Rushcart Annual Celebrations. On this weekend there is an influx of Morris Men into the village from all over the UK. The Rushcart is pulled around the Saddleworth Villages, with lots of dancing and drinking, to eventually arrive up at Saddleworth Church where they lay the rushes on the floor. Uppermill Community Association Update

UPPERMILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION – Supported by Canal and River Trust UCAN has had a busy Summer so far, reaching the milestone of 1000 hours of volunteer labour since our formation.
