Delph win a thriller

Delph won a thrilling match on Saturday against second in the table Elland, defending a relatively modest total. Elland won the toss and had no hesitation in putting Delph into bat on a wicket that was still drying out after the week’s heavy downpours.

Both openers, Irfan Zahoor and Bruce Cruse, went for 11 and Elland then made inroads into the middle order when Faisal Butt (10) and Arron Lilley (13) both carelessly holed out. Delph were then indebted to […]

Arron Lilley and Faisal Butt looked to rebuild before Lilley was caught behind for 22.

Butt scored his first half century of the season, but soon […]

Delph Narrowly Fail In Run Chase

Delph fell to their first defeat of the season at the home of last season’s league champions, Honley, falling agonising short by 4 runs in a gripping run chase. After being put into bat, Honley made a steady start before opener Danny Howard fell for 8.

The remainder of the Honley innings was then built around a well crafted 100 by Simon Kelly, scoring his third ton on the run against Delph.

It was scored off 132 balls and contained […]
