The judging of the Annual Saddleworth Christmas Illuminations competition took place on Wednesday 6th December 2017. The panel of judges consisted of the Chairman of the Parish Council, Councillor Nikki Kirkham, Parish Councillors John Hudson and Pam Byrne and the Clerk to the Council, Pam Bailey. Entries had been invited for the following categories:

Have you seen 74-year-old James who is missing from Ashton?

James Bentham, 74, was last seen at around 10am this morning (Friday 8 December 2017) at a hospital on Wigan Lane.

He is described as 5ft 9inches tall, of a slim build, with greying short hair and a beard.

A man who plied a young girl with drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her at his flat in Oldham has been jailed.

Police investigating a city centre rape still want to speak to a man.

At around 5.35am on Saturday 18 November 2017, police received a report of a concern for the welfare of a 27-year-old woman in the city centre. Local computer company giving children a helping hand at Christmas …

A computing company from Uppermill have gathered a large stash of presents and continue to do so for needy children in Manchester. The presents have been dropped off by locals to support Key 103’s ‘Mission Christmas’. All donations go to Cash for Kids Charity and are distributed around Manchester.
