Dove Stone Reservoir The new tourist bus to Dove Stone Reservoir comes into service this weekend. The “Saddleworth Hopper” will run every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday until 26 September. The bus follows a route between Greenfield Station, Uppermill and Dove Stone, with extra request stops in Greenfield at [...] The Saddleworth Show is tomorrow, and a free shuttle bus is being laid on to take people from Uppermill to Churchill Fields where the day’s events are taking place. Top of the bill at this year’s show are some racing camels, with organisers from the Rotary Club promising a “spectacular display” from the animals in [...] It’s arguably the biggest day of the year for Saddleworth. Thousands of local folk and visitors alike will today enjoy this morning’s Whit Walks and this evening’s Whit Friday brass band contests at villages across not only Saddleworth, but also Mossley and the rest of Tameside.
