Labour are still the largest party on Kirklees Council following Thursday’s local elections. They’ve got 24 seats with the Liberal Democrats on 20 and the Conservatives on 19.
There are also four Greens and two independents. Labour gained two seats in Thurday’s poll, while the Conservatives lost two, dashing Tory hopes of becoming the largest party.

Labour’s Jonny Reynolds is the new MP for Stalybridge and Hyde. He held the seat with a much-reduced majority of 2,744 over the Conservative candidate Rob Adlard. There was an 8.5% swing from Labour to the Tories.
