Liberal Democrat Councillor Garth Harkness, has been speaking to the council over the recent flooding and blocked gullies in the area.
He told Saddleworth News: “The other night I spoke to the council regarding blocked gullies and in particular the ones that regularly occur.
“It is not sensible to be reactive in such cases when it is known that the blockages reoccur on a regular basis. This is causing huge damage to the roads and regular floods. I have suggested a regular maintenance schedule for such cases.
“I am pleased that the council agreed with my comments.
“If your readers are aware of any blocked gullies and in particular the ones that are blocking on a regular basis then please let me know and I can then compile a list of blocked gullies that need dealing with and the ones that regularly block, I can then suggest they be put onto a regular maintenance plan.”

I went on and on last year, about my area. I spoke to a councillor who seems to think it quite humorous that in my area there were 3 grids…. Sorry gullies the council could not find, they were so overgrown…..
