From The New Editor: Sadaf From University Campus Oldham

Sadaf Hussain

As most of you will already be aware, Saddleworth News is under new management. Well, it is me who is the new editor of the website.  I am a Digital Journalism student from UCO.

I chose to do my final year practical project on Saddleworth News as the area I am interested in pursuing a career in would be news journalism.

The final year practical project requires the student to work for a client to a professional standard. In my case I have to upload stories, monitor comments and check emails. Every week I am aiming to publish two articles, although in some instances it may be more, depending on time constraints and stories needing urgent attention.

During my time as editor I will be trying to get involved within the Saddleworth community, I’m sure you will all make me feel welcome!

If there are any ideas you have for the site, or any changes you would like to see please send me an email at editor@saddleworthnews.com

Thanks, Sadaf

All the best in your new role Sadaf!

  • Good luck Sadaf. It’s a great website which has built up a very good following, and covering a great community. I’m sure you will be made welcome.

  • Thank you for your support. Richard did a great job building and maintaining the site, which is the main reason it has such a good audience. I hope you enjoy the site during my time as editor, please let me know if you have any ideas or comments. I will be more than happy to address them.

    Good luck Sadaf.

Hope to see you out and about around Saddleworth where I am sure you will find some interesting (and some not so interesting) stories, local issues and characters with plenty to say.
